A Note From Erica and Christine....

As summer comes to an end, we would like to take the time to thank our clients, old and new.

Although at times it can be crazy, having a passion as strong as we do for our career turns the crazy into good. Thanks to our dedicated and growing staff (that we consider family), we have been able to make this move into our new home a wonderful experience for us and for all of you! We couldn't be happier! This summer has been amazing and we know it is only the beginning of what's to come.

So get ready to "Fall" into your new look this upcoming season with lots of special events and promotions, including new product launches and blowout memberships!

We are continually trying to make this experience the best that it can possibly be. Keep the feedback coming, we love it! We always look forward to hearing from you!

The Move is Coming...

We really wanted to keep it a secret but that didn't work out too well.

Yes we are moving to a new location!!

We've had a wonderful run at our Williston Park location but East Hills will soon be our new home. More details to come on that in the upcoming weeks plus pictures on the creation of the new location. Owner's Erica and Christine have been working crazy hours for the past month to get this new salon ready and we can't wait to show you!

Looks of the Week: Prom Season

It's Promo season! You've waited all year for your prom. You have the dress, the shoes and all the accessories but how will you wear your hair??

There are so many new trends this year and if you are scared to try one off them off the bat or if you need some ideas, remember you can always schedule a consultation at the salon beforehand. Good tip: bring a picture of the dress to the salon!

Some of the hot trends this year include buns, braids, the half up half down style, and the ponytail is back for 2012.

Looks of the Week: Wedding Edition

If only every week could be as nice as it was this past week.....

Soon soon my friends, but unfortunately rain and cold weather is calling our name this weekend. It was nice while it lasted... Or maybe the weather people will be wrong. 

Spring is here and that means it's the official kickoff to wedding season. So this week's look book is dedicated to wedding hair looks.

2012 Spring Hair Trends

Spring is officially here! Time to spruce up the locks and get out of the house and enjoy the warm sunshine!

We are so ready for it and after going to many hair show events the past few months, here is list of hot hair trends for Spring 2012.

Trend: Bang it Out

Bangs are back this season and the best part of this look is it can really work for anyone if done the right way. If the idea of bangs freak you out don't get such a drastic bang. Another trick, get them a little longer on the sides of your face so it blends well. And always remember if you don't like it, they will grow back. ;)

Trend: Go for the Wave

The "Urban Wave" that is. It's very similar to the beachy wave with a barely there curl and a glistening texturized look to it. This look is all over the runway shows this year.

Trend: Ombre


It's been in and it's not going away this Spring. What is Ombre? It is a color technique where hair is darker at the scalp and gets gradually lighter. The key is to have no harsh transition line. This look is best for hair that's medium to long.

Trend: Chalking

Or we can call this "Dip Dyed Ends". Amazing for a pop of color with out the commitment. Color is added to the tips of your hair for an instant accessory of color! Think pink, red, bright blue and orange. This is a great idea for prom or a night out or just for fun. And it's a one day deal- wash hair and it's gone. Quick Tip: This works best on lighter hair but you can achieve this look with dark hair. You just need to use colors that will stand out.

Just to add in a few more quick trends we've been creating at Head Rush. Lot's of ladies going for the sun kissed highlights to frame the face. This is great because it changes color without the crazy commitment. You don't have the blonde at the root on the part so a good idea for all the brunettes!

For woman for want blonde, warm blonde's are out the door and pastel blonde's are back in!
